| Bonesaw: The GameKyle Pulver | Bonesaw is a great platformer game that takes a large amount of inspiration from games such as Kirby. You take the role of a Golden Knight, a hockey player, whose teammates have been banished to an inter-dimensional penalty box. Obviously, you set out to save them from the evil head referee.
The core of the game consists of the Golden Knight running and jumping through levels and beating up bad guys. However, it has a bit of a Kirby-like flair to it; The Knight can pick up weapons that are sometimes strewn around levels. In addition to these weapons, the Knight can also summon the "Bonesaw", the titular bonesaw, to slice and dice his enemies with. The bonesaw is charged up with the blood of your enemies and because of this the more enemies you kill with it the longer you will be able to wield it during a summoning.
Bonesaw also has a good amount of puzzles here and there. Many consist of hitting a ball to a pedestal to open a door, while others consist of finding a switch. The puzzles help to add a little variety to the game. The enemies are also quite interesting; Some can spew fire, some shoot bombs, some explode when you get near them, and some are just normal hockey players.
Bonesaw is a great platformer that plays a bit like Kirby, Mario, and classic Beat-'Em-Ups all mashed up together into a tasty casserole of delicious goodness. |
